Project Scope: Residential

My husband and I are lucky to have a beautiful spot on Lake Norman – a point lot with panoramic views and privacy. We purchased the home from his family about 10 years ago. It’s ancient! The decision has always been whether to tear it down or keep it an interesting “Eclectic” lake house, which was built in 1967. We decided to renovate.

Our home is on a slab and the carpet was old. We really wanted to expose the concrete floor and hoped it would add some character to the antiques and artwork we all ready had in place.

The decision was made after Chris and Jose at Durashield did a test run sample of what we could expect. They were excellent in explaining what could happen once they took out the carpet and the old vinyl tile that was beneath. We left for a trip out of town and gave Durashield a key to the house.

We came home to a wonderful surprise – even more than we expected! Durashield did a fantastic job of teaching us what they may find after grinding down the concrete and had us look at color samples. Durashield was very professional and we believe they are “Artists” with this kind of work. Thanks again for such a great job!
